Authors Studied

Tim O'Brien

English 11 is the study of American authors.  Students begin the course with more modern literature and move backward through time.  Two authors included in the curriculum are not American authors but have heavily influenced American writing.  Shakespeare is foundation for the bricks of modern poetry and drama. George Orwell raised the question, "What happens if our government is given complete control?" Students will engage in reading, writing and discussion as well as design projects which analyze and synthesize literature to our modern world.
